What is vintage style?

Vintage style in fashion is defined as representing the high quality products from years ago. What it was some time ago hidden at the bottom of the wardrobe, now it returns and the whole world is more and more eagerly reaching for original clothes for the wardrobes of older generations. It is worth adding that the vintage style is not limited only to clothes or accessories. We are equally eager to reach for, for example, vintage furniture.

The fashion of the previous century has created a multitude of possibilities and many different styles. We’re already tired of the fashion driven by chain stores, blindly following trends that are changing each season. Young people look for their own unique style and often reach for unusual things from years ago. We want to be greener, we want to dress consciously. The answer to these desires is precisely the vintage story that is full of magic, and every thing has your story. We associate vintage fashion with uniqueness, but also with great class.

Interesting, unusual clothes

Vintage clothes are the essence of the second half of the last century. Most often we have been using clothes since the 50’s. In the streets, we see people who skillfully combine the contemporary clothes with those from decades ago. Vintage is a motif of large peas, emphasizing the waist, flared and pleated skirts, as well as flared pants. It is extremely symbolic also the period of the 1970s, when the dress of flower children was an expression of freedom, peace and happiness. Today we love to wear flowery blouses and dresses, as well as tassels and patches that appear everywhere. We also love vests and flared pants. The 80’s also inspire and give a lot possibilities. Large sweaters, jackets with shoulder pads, shoes in interesting shapes or large shirts with expressive collars – this is only a small part of the styles we see in modern streets. And it all comes from years ago!

It is also worth mentioning the style of the 90s, which is less distant.For some time now young people take inspiration from the nonchalant style of this period. Denim as the main material, T-shirts with prints, sporty style and the latest (then) models of sports shoes. Moreover, already the 2000s are going vintage!

All of this shows us that fashion come full circle. Big clothing brands take their inspiration from previous decades. Increasingly, we can buy items stylized as those in stores we can also find in the wardrobe of our grandmothers. Here, however, we must consider whether it speaks more vintage style to us, which will make our things unique and original, or we prefer further buy in large chains. Undoubtedly, the former have great sentimental value, but also their material is much more “honest”.

Vintage accessories

Accessories complement each outfit. Both men and women have always loved glasses, scarves, bags, backpacks and other accessories that were a perfect complement to their styling.

Vintage is all from years ago. There are no specific rules that should be followed to dress yourself in vintage style. As we already know, this style has many faces that can be mixed and therefore achieve an original and stylish effect.
